Interview with Terminal
By: Caz* Bevan

Terminal is one of the most heartfelt Indie bands I have ever heard. The vocal quality of Travis Bryant (lead singer) coupled with his lyrics portray that of a bleeding heart on a rainy day. While visiting Texas, home to Terminal, I had a chance to interview Travis and get the scoop on the new lineup.

NowOnTour: I used to know you as the band Letter Twelve. How did you become Terminal and how did you decide to drastically change your music style?
Travis (lead vocals/guitar): There wasn't any drastic change in our music style. It was a gradual maturity that came about through writing. We changed our name to Terminal when we signed with Tooth And Nail. Everyone agreed that it was time for a new name.

What happened as far as the band breaking up?
The band didn't break up. The other members stepped down from their positions in Terminal to pursue other interests in their lives.

Have you found replacements?
I have a full band to tour now, yes.

What made you decide to find replacements as well as keep the same band name?
I wrote the songs in Terminal and felt an attachment to those songs. In my mind there was no reason to pursue my musical endeavors under a new name.

How did Terminal manage to get signed by Tooth And Nail Records?
I gave a demo to my pal Grant from Underoath. When the tour they were on reached Seattle, they actually took the demo into the Tooth And Nail offices and had their A&R rep listen to the songs. I received a call while I was in class, and the rest is history.

Do you make a living as a musician?
No. I'm very poor.

What's the most exciting aspect of being on tour?
Waking up somewhere new everyday.

Who are some of the bands you've toured with?
Saosin, He Is Legend, The Juliana Theory, Cartel, The Working Title, Codeseven, The Receiving End Of Sirens, Rufio, The Spill Canvas and Yesterday's Rising.

So, who is Terminal now? Who are the new members?
Travis Bryant - vocals/guitar
Justin Leu - drums
Chris Pulis - guitar
Ryan Flynn - bass

And what's next for Terminal?
We are going to tour in support of our record How The Lonely Keep, continue to write new music and hopefully record by the end of the year.
