Ladytron Sign With Nettwerk Music Group
11/13/2007

By: Patrick Steven Patterson
Nettwerk Music Group has announced the addition of Liverpool electronic pop foursome
Ladytron to the Nettwerk Productions label roster. The band is currently in Paris recording
their fourth full-length album (title forthcoming) with co-producer Vicarious Bliss of Ed
Banger Records (Justice, DJ Mehdi, Busy P), due out in May 2008.
Ladytron - Helen Marnie, Mira Aroyo, Daniel Hunt and Reuben Wu - formed in 1999 and
released their debut, 604, in 2001. The album was on the forefront of the
indie-pop/dance-rock movement leasing kids everywhere to go garage-saling for vintage
synths.
Nettwerk co-founder Mark Jowett is thrilled Ladytron has joined the Nettwerk family:
"Ladytron is one of the coolest, most vital and cutting edge bands around right now. Each of
their albums is more seductive than the last, and their live performance is electrifying. As a
company, we are having the time of our lives with some amazing, energy-infused artists like
Datarock and Felix da Housecat. It is an honor and a privilege to add Ladytron to that
roster."
The bands forthcoming release will be the follow-up to 2005's Witching Hour.
Ladytron toured worldwide behind the record for nearly two years, both as headliners and as
support for Nine Inch Nails and the Chemical Brothers, all the while experimenting and
creating new material.
"We came straight from our final shows in the US to the studio in Paris to complete what we
have been working on for the last year or so," says Daniel Hunt. "The sessions are exciting,
and we can't wait to get the new tracks out there."
A full North American tour is in the works for late spring 2008.
