Fivespeed's limited EP, Bella, contains vocal
harmonies reminiscent of Breaking Benjamin. Jared
Woosley's voice, however, is much better. The vocals on this
album are strong. Jared's voice is that sort of golden passion
of modern alternative rock that makes a band somehow
motivational. The music seems to resemble Taproot and at
times, it sounds like a hard rock version of 311.
This demo only features four songs at a total of 14 minutes.
I find it interesting that each song was recorded and
produced by someone different and in completely different
locations. I suppose that's part of what makes this an
"exclusive" EP.
For the most part, Fivespeed sounds familiar as if you've
already heard it on the radio a dozen times. It's not that
type of annoying-radio-familiar, it's just generic and easy to
like. It's very melodic rock. You can tell, as a band they
have a purpose and a passion for what they play and what
they sing.
Fivespeed were recently signed to Virgin Records. |
