Fielding is a decidedly indie band producing themselves in an
independent fashion, represented by an independent label
and hailing from Southern California - the Long Beach area.
They sound like an indie-pop modern day Beatles.
Considered both All-American Indie and early 90's British
Pop, Fielding has created a five-piece sound similar to Snow
Patrol, but far less depressing, catchier and easier to relate
to. Fielding has been together for about two years and
features two guitars, a bass, drums and other percussion as
well as keys.
Beth B., on keyboards, strings, accordion and backing
vocals, is originally from Northern Ireland and has a
beautiful voice with a slight Irish twang to it. Lead vocalist,
Eric B., provides lyrics with a poetic approach to every day
life, from his perspective, probably feeling like the little-guy
more often than not as proposed in track one, "The Giant" -
"You're beautiful when you're on the ground/The giants
watching their ankles weaken by all the bastards that tell
them to watch them fall down... why don't you stay down?"
Or maybe he feels like the guy, being torn down by rumors
and angst while still trying to be protective. The point is, he
takes into perspective many different aspects and views on
life and brings them to the table in order to produce a
beautiful and emotional recording. |
