Inventure, Days Like These second album with
Lobster Records; produced by Angus Cooke (The Ataris) and
Nick Rucker (Yellowcard, Plain White T's) has no punk/pop
background like either Yellowcard or The Ataris, more an
older-rock or righteous-rock sound. Lead vocalist, Angel
Santiago seems to have a vocal passion similar to Scott
Stapp. But still, I wouldn't compare them to Creed as far as
their fundamental sound.
Each song is different musically. "Charmed," is my personal
favorite. It's catchy. I like how the lead guitarist and vocalist
trade off on carrying the melody - which requires a lot of
vocal confidence. For a young band, Days Like These sounds
different from their peers in today's overrun world of Hip
Hop and Pop Punk. Rock fans will be relieved. The has the
capacity to explore their musical ability via
recording.
The CD also includes a video which interviews the band
about their second time recording and their experiences.
There is also a music video for their second track, "The
Threat Of A Good Example." The band is young and seems
to have a lot of experience. Friends since High School, they
are now about 23 years old and have every intent of
continuing long and strong. |
