I cannot stop listening, and I won't stop listening. By far this is one of the best albums I have heard this year. The production is beautifully crafted, swirling guitar lines echo, voices haunt, and a sense of sadness comes to life. What more could you want? This ambient album will romance any true indie fan for years to come.

Rhys Fulber (Frontline Assembly/Delerium, and Fear Factory) brings unmatched skill to his latest project, Extraordinary Ways. This venture features several wonderfully talented artists, including one known only as Jane, who sounds eerily like Poe. Fulber even lends his voice to a few tracks, and proves he has multiple musical talents.

As I first put this disc in the player, I was excited to learn it sounded good. When the album was done I couldn't make myself put it back in its sleeve. I knew I would be listening to it again, and soon.

The title track, "Extraordinary Ways" boasts lyrics that are happy; "I am lucky, so much luckier than I ever thought I'd be," while instrumentation is nostalgic. Their fluidity is superiorly combined. The result is inspiring, which is true of the entire album.

In fact, words cannot detail my favorite track, "Dying Light." It is on a completely different playing field from anything I've heard this past year. It reminds me of something Cirque Du Soleil would produce. The featured singer croons in another language, and you can just see the sadness. Fulber adds his significant grief for effect. And while you may not understand the words, the meaning will have a deep impact.

If I could use one word to describe the effect this album has had on me, it would be "Wow." There are several approaches conquered in this album, yet the difference in content works together in a very respectable way. This album is the perfect mix for a perfect experience, and you won't be disappointed.
