Ever We Fall has a brighter, indie-friendly sound - almost
reminiscent of Jimmy Eat World-meets-Snow Patrol, yet less
depressing.
I like the idea behind the title - We Are But
Human, and yet robotic in nature. Life is so
predictable, yet we continue to take chances and have hope
that someday our insanities will breed a different outcome.
To me, this might just be what Ever We Fall is trying to put
across to those willing to listen. However, their subtle
approach, musically, based on the 'technicals' more than the
'emotionals' - I am not exactly moved.
I can see what it is they are saying, but somehow it leaves
me expecting more. It's hard to feel inspired when nothing in
life is changing - especially the music here. It all seems the
same. If I were writing an album expressing a theory on
humanity, I'd try to be a little less humane. |
