There is really only one word I could use to describe nearly every song on this album: messy. It contains all the familiar themes of this generation of music. It has the emo style vocals complete with the throat scream, the intense drums and wildly changing guitar licks. The stew however isn't as tasty as you would expect.
With all of these elements mixed together they forgot a few things. Mainly they forgot to add a melody, as the music in nearly every song just seems to flow in 10 directions at once. It is also missing any and all coherence.
Too confusing and too messy, nearly every song on this album is too much for my ears. Think of a marriage between emo, schizophrenia and a jam band, and this is what you get. Listening to it makes me tired. |
