Together since 2003, Saosin has been with current lead
singer, Cover Reber, since June 2004. Having recently
released their first full-length album preceded only by a four
song EP (2005) and a handful of tracks on various popular
compilations, Saosin is hardly unheard of - this
Voices was greatly anticipated by their already
dedicated fan base. Touring with bands such as Avenged
Sevenfold and currently on the Taste Of Chaos Tour, Saosin
has made a name for themselves prior to their, I dare say,
better than anticipated debut album.
Their popular single "Voices" shouts the desperate chorus,
"We speak in different voices/When fighting with the ones we
love/We speak in different voices/Why can't we say what
we're thinking of?" The music video is a typical first major
album video with clips of the band touring and playing
live.
Also guaranteed to be a top track in your playlist is "You're
Not Alone." Positive, with relatable lyrics, this song tells the
tale of typical teenage angst - a boy and a girl lost and
unhappy with their lives. However, the chorus reminds us,
"You're not alone/There is more to this I know/You can
make it out/You will live to tell." With a feel reminiscent of
one or two Hawthorne Heights songs, you can be reassured
that Saosin is no one-hit wonder.
Every song on this
13-track album is worth listening to, time and time again. |
