Veteran songwriter Cindy Morgan has decided to sing her latest collection of songs herself this time out. This is her seventh record and it stays true to the Christian ideals that have been the backbone of her writing inspiration. After having her second child, Morgan began a songwriting binge of songs she decided would form her next record. Morgan wrote the whole record on a lap dulcimer, something that formed the instrumental launching pad for Postcards.

Morgan's soothing voice takes center stage throughout, even though it is smooth and easy rather than piercing or commanding. It only serves to put the focus on the strong material with well-defined melodies and substantial lyrical fodder.

The first song, "Deep" has a memorable chorus that will instill in your head long after it has finished. It is one of the more powerful tracks on the record and it's a great way to start off. "Enough" is a foot-stomping romper that pleases with its buoyant melody line. Things turn a bit more introspective with the title track, a piece about a 17 year-old girl running away to find out about the world. "Oh What Love" is a gorgeous, solemn piece that allows Morgan's great voice to shine. The rest of the record is as solid with 11 cuts in all and no pit-falls anywhere.

While Morgan has banged out six previous records, she is also equally known as a songwriter for others. Such noteworthy Christian performers as Michael W. Smith, Michael English, Bebe Winans, John Tesh and Sandi Patty have recorded her material.
