Neon Trees has taken Utah by willing surprise. A mixed band -
half SoCal, half Wasatch-front - the band is agreeable with their
post-punk, ultra pop-balla flare. Neon Trees has an attitude -
the type that makes you think they don't care, yet they love
their fans. They strut with a strong sense of being opinionated,
and yet they dash your bad-boy hopes with humility
to-taste.
Backed by electronic beats and a "keen sense of fashion" their
first full-length and fully mastered album is a must-have for
everyone's poptacular summer backbeats. I don't care what
kind of music you listen to, dance-rock is for all shapes and
sizes. Dance-rock is the new unifying beat to get behind. They
don't call it Dance, Dance Revolution for nothing. Everyone has
a little dance in them, even sad, insistently depressed types will
find themselves swaying and foot tapping to the Neon
Trees.
Live, you will not be able to resist this band. If by chance
you're normally a reserved person and perhaps a little shy -
the Neon Trees will strip you of your doubts and you'll find
yourself directly under that disco ball, rocking out like nobody's
watching; or if you're not quite ready for that and more
stubborn than most, you'll at least find yourself stomping
around and leaping about your apartment
Footloose style as if the neighbors bellow you
didn't care. The Neon Trees reach down deep and find in you
exactly what you want to be in and of that moment. With that in
mind, I think Becoming Different People is an
appropriate and introductory title to all that comprises The
Neon Trees. |
